TI Technology in AP® Calculus

The AP Calculus Exam expects students to use graphing calculators as powerful problem-solving tools—not just for graphing, but for numerical analysis. This session will model effective strategies for integrating the four required calculator capabilities:
  • Plotting graphs within an arbitrary window
  • Finding zeros numerically
  • Computing numerical derivatives
  • Evaluating definite integrals
Participants will explore AP-style multiple-choice and free-response questions that require these skills. We will demonstrate how to identify when calculator use is most efficient, avoid common errors, and teach students to connect calculator results to underlying calculus concepts.
